CIVIC nationalism group Ireland's Future is to hold public events in New York and Philadelphia next month.

The group has hosted talks and published several discussion papers since it was formed in 2019.

Made up of nationalists from all backgrounds, Ireland's Future is urging politicians across the island, including the Dublin government, to plan for constitutional change.

Events will be held in Philadelphia on Saturday March 12 and New York on March 14, ahead of the St Patrick's Day celebrations.

Last year, Ireland's Future held a series of events across Ireland.

Monthly events billed as 'All-Ireland Public Meetings - preparing for a united Ireland', are scheduled for venues including in Dundalk, Waterford and Sligo, this year.

A meeting will also be held in Belfast in November.

Last year, the group launched a paper outlining the economic advantages of a united Ireland.

The document, 'Planning for a Strong Economy in a New Ireland', claimed that "current governance and funding constraints almost ensure that the north will continue to fall behind the south, and other economies into the future".
