There have been calls for an end to street violence in Dungannon after 30 people were involved in an altercation in the town centre last weekend.

Footage circulating on social media appears to show the clash at Scotch Street last Saturday afternoon.

Police say that "shortly before 4pm a number of calls were made reporting that a fight had broken out between a crowd of approximately 30 males. During this incident, a stone was thrown, causing criminal damage to a car driving through the area," a spokesman added.

Aontú councillor Denise Mullen last night called for an end to the violence.

"These are senseless acts of behaviour," she said.

"As a councillor you have people telling you this place is dead and that place is dead.

"Is it any wonder shops are not doing well when you have that behaviour going on."
