Unionism finally had cause for celebration when the DUP and UUP were firmly bonded during blissful nuptials.
Laura Donaldson, who is the daughter of incoming DUP leader Jeffrey Donaldson and Philip Kennedy, who is the son of Ulster Unionist Party chairman Danny Kennedy, tied the knot at Banbridge Road Presbyterian Church in Dromore.
Mr Donaldson and his wife Eleanor, and Mr Kennedy and his wife Karen were all present to witness the happy occasion, which comes amid ongoing DUP drama.
Nurse Laura has reportedly known Philip, a full time youth worker, since the pair were young children but it wasn't until two years ago that their friendship blossomed into love.
It is understood the service was beamed into Corick House in Clogher, for those guests who weren’t able to attend due to Covid restrictions, and where the happy couple were due to hold their reception.
It is believed the couple had had to move their wedding twice previously due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Mr Donaldson and Mr Kennedy became friends when the pair were both members of the Ulster Unionist Party. Mr Donaldson later left the UUP and joined the DUP.
