AN "old deactivated grenade" was found yesterday during a security alert in Co Armagh.
The alert was sparked following the discovery of a suspicious object in the Gamblestown Park area of Craigavon.
A number of homes were evacuated and motorists were advised to avoid the area as police examined the object.
A PSNI spokesman later said "an old, deactivated grenade was removed from the scene".
"A number of residents who were evacuated from their homes have now returned to their properties," he said.
"Police would like to thank those impacted for their cooperation."
