A TEENAGER suffered a broken nose and fractured jaw in a sectarian attack in north Belfast at the weekend.

The 16-year-old was set upon by four men around 9.30pm on Friday at the junction of Deerpark Road and Old Park Road.

Inspector Nick Browne said: “The victim was attacked by four males who punched and kicked him, and directed sectarian abuse towards him.

“Two of the men were described as being dressed in black and had their hoods up."

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police said they are treating the assault as a "sectarian hate crime" and appealed for witnesses.

Anyone with information was asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
