SUSPECTED cocaine with a street value of more than £88,000 was seized along with drug dealing paraphernalia and a spent bullet casing in a raid by the PSNI Paramilitary Crime Task Force in west Belfast.

A 39-year-old woman was arrested at the scene during the operation yesterday which is part of an investigation into suspected drugs activity linked to the INLA.

A PSNI spokeswoman said the recovered suspected cocaine and mixing agent had "a huge potential yield, which undoubtedly would have had far a reaching detrimental impact on the community".

He said "drug criminals using paramilitarism as a badge of convenience" would be "robustly and proactively" pursued and were "supplying illegal drugs for their own personal gain", with users and their families dealing with "the distressing fall out associated with drugs, including debt and intimidation".
