Two men arrested after petrol bomb thrown in Ballymena

TWO men were arrested after a petrol bomb was thrown in Ballymena.

Police said three men were in a house in Fisherwick Gardens in the Co Antrim town when the device was thrown at around 5am today.

They managed to extinguish it and no-one was injured.

Two men, aged 26 and 28, were later arrested on suspicion of arson endangering life with intent, throwing a petrol bomb, criminal damage and possessing a petrol bomb in suspicious circumstances.

Police said they are trying to establish a motive for the attack and appealed to anyone with information to contact them on 101.
