Two more people have died in Northern Ireland having contracted Covid-19, the Department of Health has said.

There have now been 573 deaths linked to coronavirus by the department.

In the past 24 hours,129 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed bringing the number for the last week to 641.

There have been 8,631 cases recorded since the pandemic began.

In care homes, there are 25 confirmed outbreaks and a further eight suspected outbreaks.

190 care homes have now closed outbreaks.

Three patients in intensive care have tested positive for Covid-19, two of whom have been ventilated.

The total number of patients with coronavirus in the north's hospitals is 35.

Yesterday it was revealed that Covid-19 centres run by GPs have seen a near-doubling in the number of referrals in just one week.

A total of 733 people attended earlier this month compared with 427 the week before, Health Minister Robin Swann said.
