There have been no new coronavirus deaths recorded in the north for the first time since March 18.

In statistics released this afternoon, the Department of Health confirmed 28 positive cases after 928 tests were carried out.

The total number of confirmed cases in the north now stands at 4,637.

Yesterday it was announced that there were no new coronavirus deaths in the Republic for the first time since March.

The number of deaths involving coronavirus in England and Wales also reached its lowest weekly level for six weeks, new figures show.

However, an intensive care boss in the Republic has said hospital staff are "considerably worried" over the risks of a second wave of coronavirus ahead of next winter's flu season.
