Northern Ireland digs deep to raise almost £1m for BBC Children in Need

ALMOST £1 million was raised for BBC Children in Need in Northern Ireland during the latest live appeal.

The total of £926,505 will be help fund 186 projects helping young people across the north.

By the time phone lines closed on Saturday, the UK total had reached almost £48 million.

A show was broadcast live on BBC on Friday from W5 in Belfast by Holly Hamilton and Stephen Clements, with highlights including 129 young people joining thousands of others across Britain to sing the Cyndi Lauper classic True Colours.

The choirs taking part were from Ballyholme PS, Bangor; Ebrington PS, Derry; Macosquin PS, Coleraine, and St Clare’s Abbey PS, Newry.
