Kittens left to die in plastic bag saved by Co Armagh school children

A group of school children found five newborn kittens in a plastic bag this morning in a bus shelter in Mullaghbawn.

The cats are thought to be about a day or two old and to have spent the night outside in the plastic bag.

A member of the public took the kittens to the USPCA Newry Animal Hospital this morning and they are now being cared for.

A USPCA spokesperson said: "Thanks are due to the rescuers, without their intervention the kittens would have died and shame on the callous individual who saw fit to dump them to their fate.”
