A woman was taken to hospital yesterday after being struck by a lorry in east Belfast.

Police said the collision happened on the Upper Newtownards Road at around 11.25am.

After being treated at the scene, the woman was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in the city.

A PSNI spokesman has appealed for witnesses to contact them.

"We’re particularly grateful to a woman who pointed emergency services to the exact location, and would ask that she gets in touch to share any information," he said.
