Archbishop Eamon Martin makes clerical changes in Archdiocese of Armagh

DUNGANNON is to get a priest on loan from Slovakia under the latest clerical changes announced by Archbishop Eamon Martin.

Rev Milan Tomaga, from the diocese of Banská Bystrica will become curate in the Co Tyrone town next month. He will replace Rev Aidan McCann, who has been appointed curate in the Haggardstown and Blackrock parish.

Under the changes in the Armagh Archdiocese a number of new parish priests have been appointed as part of the annual clerical changes.

Among those to become PP are Rev Aidan Dunne in Lower Killeavy, Rev Brian White in Carlingford and Omeath and Rev Patrick Rushe in Monasterboice.

A number of priests will also take on the role of pastor emeritus, while one priest, Very Rev Vincent Darragh, has retired.

Another cleric, Rev Uduak Abara, is set to leave the Middle Killeavy parish to return to the Missionary Society of St Paul for a new assignment.

Archbishop Martin said the changes are due to come into effect from September 1.

"I am deeply appreciative to the priests and deacons of the Archdiocese for their continued ministry and service, and I wish them well as they take up their new appointments," said the Catholic Primate.

"I also thank the people of the Archdiocese of Armagh for their ongoing prayers and generous support of our clergy.

"I encourage parishes to welcome their new pastors over the coming weeks."
