A WOMAN has been left "extremely traumatised" after she was threatened and assaulted in her bedroom by a man who broke into her Co Fermanagh home.

The man entered the property on Lough Shore Road in Derrygonnelly at around 11.05pm on Wednesday June 26 and carried out the attack before escaping on foot.

Nothing was stolen during the aggravated burglary which left the victim with minor injuries to her arm and leg.

The assailant was around 5fr 6in tall and aged between twenties to forties, of a slight build and spoke with what was described as a "local accent".

A PSNI spokeswoman said it had been "an absolutely terrifying ordeal for the victim in her own home, somewhere she rightly deserves to feel safe".

She appealed for anyone with information to contact detectives in Omagh on 101, quoting reference number 2473 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
