TWO female staff members were threatened during the weekend armed robbery of a shop on Oldpark Road in Belfast.

Shortly before 9pm on Saturday, a man armed with either a machete or a cleaver stole the shop's till.

It is believed that a second man was waiting outside the premises during this robbery, after which both men made off in the direction of Ardoyne Avenue.

The stolen till was found abandoned in an alleyway off Oldpark Square.

The robber was around 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing a dark puffa jacket, a hoodie with the hood up, a red scarf covering his face and orange gloves.

The women were not injured but were left very badly shaken.
