Pedestrian in her eighties dies in crash

 A woman in her eighties has died after she was knocked down in Co Armagh

A PEDESTRIAN in her eighties has died after she was hit by a car yesterday evening.

The woman was hit by a blue Toyota Landcruiser on Victoria Street in Keady, Co Armagh, at around 6.30pm.

The crash happened close to the junction of Clay Road.

Police have appealed to anyone who saw the crash, or who may have dash cam footage, to contact them.

Sinn Féin MLA Cathal Boylan has said the area is in “shock and sadness” over the pensioner's death.

"The thoughts and prayers of all are with the deceased’s family and friends as they try to come to terms with the news of her tragic death and I extend my sincerest condolences to them," he said.
