ARSONISTS have targeted an oil tank at a house in Derry.

Police appealed for witnesses after it was reported a rag was placed on the tank in the Bonds Street area and set alight at around 2.50am yesterday.

A second rag was also set alight on a window.

The victim, aged in his 40s, suffered a scrape to his head.

Shortly after 1.30am cash and prescription medication was stolen from a house in the Drumleck Drive area of the city.

A house in the Rockfield area of the city was also broken into and keys to a Ford Mondeo were stolen. The car was found abandoned on Lenamore Road shortly after 2am.
