A woman has been tied to a bath during a robbery in Co Antrim.

Detectives are appealing for information after three men, who had their faces covered and were wearing gloves, gained entry to a house in the Paisley Road area of Carrickfergus on Saturday night.

A woman in her 50swho was alone in the house at the time, had her wrists bound with cable ties and handcuffs.

She was then taken into a bathroom and tied to the bath.

She was eventually released herself and raised the alarm at 12.45am.

The thieves got away with cash and jewellery.

Although unhurt during the incident, the woman was left badly shaken.
