THE body of a man has been recovered from Belfast Harbour.

Police said the body, believed to be that of a Belfast man in his forties, was found yesterday afternoon.

Although the man has not yet been formally identified, he has been named locally as Paul Conlon, a former Ulster senior boxing champion who had been missing for several weeks.

Mr Conlon, who owned a barber's shop in west Belfast, had boxed for Holy Trinity ABC.

A police spokeswoman said: "A post mortem and identification procedures will be carried out in due course".
