Teenager charged over social media messages about Arlene Foster

THE prosecution of a teenager over content posted on social media is understood to relate to messages about DUP leader Arlene Foster.

An 18-year-old has been charged with the improper use of a public electronic communications' network.

Police said he is due to appear before Newry Magistrates Court on August 2.

It is understood the charge relates to messages sent to Mrs Foster online.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service".
