A GUN has been found near the Lagan towpath in south Belfast.
Police said the gun was discovered on a path beside Sharman Road, near the towpath, at around 1.10pm yesterday.
The gun was taken away for further examination.
Anyone with information or who noticed any suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact police on 101.
