People across Ireland and the world have been celebrating St Patrick's Day.

St Patrick's Day: What's On

:: BELFAST

A colourful carnival parade leaving Belfast City Hall at noon. Free concert at Custom House Square from 12.45pm including X Factor runner-up, Fleur East and Reggie 'n' Bollie and Stooshe.

St Patrick's weekend at St George’s Market with live traditional Irish music from An Droichead and make your own Shamrock workshops.

:: DERRY

St Patrick's Day Parades from 2pm to 3pm: Community, arts and performance groups take to the streets in a vibrant celebration.

LegenDerry Food Festival runs at Guildhall Square from 12 to 6pm showcasing the talents of local chefs and producers with live cooking demos, street theatre and kids workshops.

:: DOWNPATRICK

St Patrick’s Carnival Procession through the city centre from noon followed by an open air concert. Music, face-painting, stilt walkers and balloon modelling.

Shamrock Steam Trains at Downpatrick and Co Down Railway between 12pm and 5pm. Ride from Inch Abbey to Downpatrick town centre as well as visiting the 12th Century ruins linked to St Patrick.

:: ARMAGH

St Patrick's Day Carnival with a theme of Myths and Legends will see a spectacular display of colour, music, dance and entertainment snake its way through the city centre from 12.30pm.

:: NEWRY

St Patrick's Day Cross Community Carnival Parade leaves the Quay's Shopping Centre at noon with a spectacular cavalcade of floats, bands and fancy dress.

An open air concert will also be held on Hill Street with Irish dancers, tribal drummers, facepainting and stalls.
