A MAN has been stabbed in the back in the Springfield Avenue area of west Belfast.

It happened shortly before 9.20pm on Tuesday and the victim, who is in his thirties, was attacked by a number of men.

He sustained a stab wound to his back, and was taken to hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Sean Murray, of the Clonard Residents Association, said: “People in the area would wholeheartedly condemn this crime. It’s important that people feel safe here, and incidents like this do nothing to help that.”
