A MAN has been treated in hospital for a stab wound to his head after an attack in Co Armagh at the weekend.

The victim, who is in his forties, was set upon by two men shortly before midnight on Sunday in the Old Portadown Road area of Lurgan.

The man was kicked, punched and stabbed in the head on a pathway near Taghnevan Close.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

SDLP councillor Joe Nelson said: "I condemn what has happened to this individual. It looks like it was a planned assault and anyone with information should go to the police."
