A RALLY was held in west Belfast last night as politicians condemned the murder of Dan Murray on Monday night.

Hundreds of people attended the rally at Grosvenor Road shopfronts.

Politicians including SDLP MLA Alex Attwood and Sinn Féin MLA Fra McCann spoke out about the killing and other recent paramilitary-style shootings.

Mr Murray (55) was shot twice in the head on Lady Street in west Belfast after being lured to the area by a hoax call to the Chinese take-away where he worked as a taxi driver.

His death was the third paramilitary-style shooting in the city within 24 hours. Frankie Donnelly jnr was shot in the back in the New Lodge area of north Belfast on Monday morning.

On Monday evening, a 17-year-old boy was shot several times in the leg, also in the New Lodge area.
