A CAR narrowly avoided a 30ft drop into Lough Erne on Tuesday morning after a crash in Enniskillen.

Police attended the two-vehicle collision at Henry Street just after 10.15am.

A red Vauxhall Astra was in a collision with a car towing a caravan just beside the main bridge connecting the Fermanagh town and the Sligo Road.

The red car became wedged on railings beside the bridge, stopping it from plummeting into the water below.

It is believed there were no serious injuries although a set of traffic lights was also damaged.
