A 22-year-old man was beaten with metal bars by masked men in Bushmills, police have said.
The man was walking on Bridge Street in the village at around 8pm last night when he was attacked by two masked men.
The man suffered injuries to his arms and legs after being hit with what are believed to have been metal bars.
One of the masked men is described as being around 5ft 6 tall, while the other is described as being approximately 6ft tall.
Both were wearing dark clothing and balaclavas. They made off on foot in the direction of the river.
