TWO people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in west Belfast that left a man in his 20s with multiple injuries to his face, body and arms.
Police were alerted by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service around 2.45am on Wednesday morning that a man had been stabbed in the St Bernadette’s Avenue area.
A police spokesperson said: “When officers arrived at the scene, a man aged in his 20s was found with multiple wounds to his face, body and arms. He was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening at this time.”
A man (38) and a woman (35) were arrested on the scene on suspicion of attempted murder, with both remaining in police custody.
Police enquiries are ongoing, with anyone with relevant information asked to call 101, quoting reference 135 of April 10.
