Another person in the north has died after contracting Covid-19, the Department of Health has announced.

It brings the death toll recorded by the department to 524.

Since 10am yesterday there have been 1,147 tests carried out involving 824 individuals with 12 returning positive results.

The latest figures come after Economy Minister Diane Dodds announced hotels can reopen from July 20, as long as the rate of coronavirus infection is under control.

The Executive met this morning and approved the measure which is part of its five-step strategy to exit lockdown.
