CCEA exams board chief to leave post

THE head of the north's exams board is to leave his post to pursue a new career opportunity.

Justin Edwards has been chief executive of the CCEA for six years. He will remain in post until April 30.

It is understood he will be taking a new position in the private sector.

The interim chairperson of CCEA, Carol Fitzsimons, said: "Since his appointment in 2014, Justin has transformed the work of CCEA.

"He has delivered significant change to many aspects of the work of CCEA and has led the organisation positively through challenging circumstances.

"We are indebted to him for his diligence, hard work and commitment to education over these years and wish him every success for his future."
