“Spending time outdoors is good for our health and we are delighted to begin the process of reopening and adjusting to the new norm.

“We thank you for your patience at this time and we hope you will enjoy the peace and tranquility of our walled garden as we adjust to the new norm

Visitors are being asked to adhere to social distancing and safety guidelines, including sanitising hands on arrival.

No-one should visit if they have signs of Covid-19 or have been in recent contact with someone who has the disease.

Glenarm Castle is one of Ireland’s oldest estates and home to the Earls of Antrim.

It attracts more than 90,000 visitors annually.

The estate is the venue for the popular annual Dalriada Festival.

This summer, the family music festival will go ahead online.

Dalriada Festival, which attracts 30,000 visitors annually to the Glenarm Castle venue, will take place virtually on July 18 wth music lovers able to enjoy the entertainment billed as “Homefest” in their own garden.

The organisers said: “It was heartbreaking to have to cancel this year’s Camp Dalfest but by doing so we knew that we were contributing towards the fight against Covid-19.

“As a thank you, and after much hard work, determination and some innovation over the past few weeks, we are delighted to announce that we will be bringing the festival live to you at home on Saturday, July 18 in partnership with Mid and East Antrim Borough Council.”

Previously, performers have included the Bay City Rollers, Nathan Carter, Ronan Keating and Peter Andre.
