A man has been pulled from the water at Lough Erne following an accident involving a jet ski yesterday (SUN) with a second man still missing in the Co Fermanagh tourist spot.

Police and other emergency services conducted searches on Lough Erne on Sunday evening with one man rescued from the water and searches ongoing for a second man.

A helicopter from the Irish Coastguard at Sligo was deployed to the scene to help with the search, which was centred on Muckross near Kesh, Co Fermanagh.

However, as darkness fell last night the rescue mission became more difficult with specialist infra-red cameras being used in the search.

A PSNI spokesman said: "Police and other emergency services are currently conducting searches on Lough Erne following reports of an incident involving a JetSki earlier.

"One man has been rescued from the water and searches are continuing for a second man."

DUP Councillor David Mahon said: “This search is ongoing and hopefully they will be able to find the missing person.

“My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of both of these men.”
