DUST off your broomstick and get ready for the spooktacular events planned across Northern Ireland this Halloween.

There's no shortage of spine-tingling fun planned from fire juggling to ghost hunts and freaky face painting to spectacular firework displays.

Here's a few highlights of what's on offer during this spooky season:

:: Halloween Monster Mash and fireworks display, The Slipways, Titanic Belfast, October 29 - 4pm

Belfast's annual Halloween Monster Mash will include spooky street theatre, macabre music, wicked workshops and fearsome fire juggling.

This year’s theme is 'Day of the Dead' and little ghouls and scary skeletons of all ages can come along in their creepy carnival outfits or monstrous magical ones.

Beginning at 4pm, there will also be prizes for best fancy dress outfits on the night.

The eerie evening will draw to a close with the largest fireworks display in the city set to a scary samba soundtrack. Fireworks will begin at approximately 6.45pm and are due to last for 15 minutes.

Admission to the event is free.

:: Derry Halloween Festival and Street Carnival Parade, October 28 - 31

Four days of Halloween activities will include a Haunted Harvest market, Little Horrors shows and entertainment, monster fun fair and tours and trails.

On Halloween night, thousands of people are expected to take to the streets for a huge carnival parade, with the theme of 'Releasing the Moon', at 7pm followed by a massive fireworks display over the River Foyle at 8.15pm.

The installations will be live at Free Derry Wall and New Gate Cultural Centre in the Fountain Estate from today until Monday from 6pm-8.30pm as part of the Awakening the Walls animation trail around the historic City Walls.

:: Boo at the Zoo, Belfast Zoo, October 28, 10am - 4pm

A fang-tastic day of fiendish fun is planned at the zoo today including a 'hallzooween' tour, creepy crafts and freaky face painting.

Children in fancy dress go free.

:: Broomstick Belle Spooky Special, October 28

The Broomstick Belle steams departs Belfast Central Station on its journey to Whitehead Station.
