GARDA officers at a station in Dublin yesterday took the 'mannequin challenge' to help promote awareness about victims of domestic violence.

The latest social media craze involves people imitating mannequins and freezing for the camera as music plays in the background.

It has become a social media hit, with cats, passengers on the London Tube and even footballer Cristiano Ronaldo among those to have taken part.

The Garda video, made at Dublin's Store Street station, involves members of the public and officers standing still as the camera passes through the station.

The video then cuts to a message stating "A closed door shouldn't hide domestic violence.
