Three barricade themselves in bedroom as gang raid home

A MAN, woman and child were forced to barricade themselves in a bedroom last night after a number of men attacked their Donegall Road home in Belfast.

In what the PSNI are treating as an aggravated burglary, shortly after 11pm on Friday, a number of men forced their way into the house on Egeria Street and smashed a window.

One of the men is reported to have been carrying a suspected firearm.

The man and woman and a small child who were in the house at the time locked themselves in the bedroom until the gang left. 

There are no futher details.

A PSNI spokesman said they wanted to hear from anyone who witnessed the attack. 

"Detectives are appealing for anyone with information about this incident to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1502 of 21/10/16.

"Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
