A BELFAST man appeared in court yesterday accused of committing a series of sex crimes in the city 20 years ago.

Gary Thomas Wallace is charged with indecent assaults on two females and indecently exposing himself to both of them.

The 47-year-old, of Glenbryn Park in Belfast, also faces allegations of inciting a child to commit an act of gross indecency and two further attempted indecent assaults.

He was ordered to stand trial on a total of 11 charges relating to dates in 1995 to 1996.

District Judge Fiona Bagnall granted a prosecution application to have him returned for trial on the charges - which relate to two different alleged victims.

Wallace was released on continuing bail until that hearing gets underway at Belfast Crown Court on a date to be fixed.
