Arrest in connection with Peggy O'Hara funeral

A 40-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in connection with paramilitary displays following the death of the mother of INLA hunger striker Patsy O’Hara.

Police also carried out a number of searches in Derry on Wednesday afternoon.

The man is being questioned at Musgrave PSNI station in Belfast.

Unionist politicians reacted angrily after shots were fired over Peggy O’Hara’s coffin outside her home in Derry in July.

A huge paramilitary colour party also accompanied Mrs O’Hara’s funeral cortege to Derry city cemetery following Requiem Mass.
