THE back door of a house was destroyed in a malicious fire in Co Down early yesterday.
The door at Castle Gardens in Killyleagh was set alight at around 3.20am.
It is understood the house is unoccupied.
Police said the door was destroyed and the inside of the house had smoke damage.
A neighbouring house also suffered smoke damage.
A 20-year-old man was treated for the effects of breathing in smoke after he tried to put out the fire before the Fire Service arrived.
