FILMING for the third series of The Fall is expected to begin in November.
The hugely popular psychological drama, which is written by award-winning screenwriter Allan Cubitt, has attracted record viewers to BBC Two.
The broadcaster confirmed in March that the series had been renewed, with news yesterday that filming of the intense criminal drama is set to get underway on November 3.
It is thought that filming will once again take place on the streets of Belfast.
The new five-episode series, starring Jamie Dornan as serial killer Paul Spector and Gillan Anderson Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson, is expected to be televised at the beginning of 2016.
While Dornan may have become an even bigger star since appearing as Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey, he is to return for the third series of The Fall.
It is believed the filming schedule has been arranged around the Co Down actor, who has back-to-back movies to film until the end of this year.
Actors John Lynch, Archie Panjabi and Colin Morgan are also expected to rejoin the cast.

The new series is expected to pick up from the season two cliffhanger finale with ended with Spector shot and left bleeding in the arms of Gibson.
Viewers saw Gibson cradling Spector in her arms, with speculation that it will bring the story to a close. However, it remains unclear if Spector will finally be brought to justice.
The second series received less critical acclaim than the first, which premiered in 2013, but it has been a huge hit for BBC Two, providing its highest ratings for almost a decade.
