Kieran takes to stage for Voice of Ireland finale

CO ANTRIM'S Kieran McKillop will take to the stage one last time tomorrow in his bid to become the next Voice of Ireland.

The singer from Feystown, near Glenarm, is just one step away from winning a contract with Universal music in the RTÉ competition.

Despite starting as outsiders from the remaining four contestants, bookmakers last night said interest in McKillop had increased over the last few days.

Liam Glynn from BoyleSports said: "Our traders are reporting plenty of interest in Kieran McKillop to win the fourth series of the Voice Of Ireland in the past 24 hours with a four-figure bet laid in one of our county Monaghan border shops at 5/1 which has seen him shorten into 9/2."

McKillop will sing off against Dubliners Emma Humber and Patrick Donoghue and Sarah McTernan from Clare in his bid to win the talent show.

Since winning his place in the final last Sunday, the farmer has spent the past week rehearsing.

But on Monday he welcomed his mentor, former S Club 7 star Rachel Stevens, back to his home in the Glens of Antrim.

McKillop will perform The Script's We Cry and Maroon 5's She Will Be Loved in tomorrow's show.

All four finalists will also perform One Republic's I Lived together, while coaches Bressie, Kian Egan, Úna Foden and Stevens will also sing The Clash's Should I Stay or Should I Go?

The special guest on the night will be Co Monaghan singer and song-writer Ryan Sheridan, who will perform his new single, Here and Now.

The Voice of Ireland final will be on RTÉ One tomorrow at 6.30pm. Voting numbers will be announced on the show.
