Police revisit murder victim's Belfast house

THE home of 41-year-old murder victim Matthew Goddard, pictured, who was killed shortly before Christmas, was revisited by police last night.

Mr Goddard's body was discovered at his house in Chobham Street, east Belfast, at around 9.40pm on Christmas Eve. Police launched an appeal for fresh information yesterday. Detective Chief Inspector John McVea said: "I would particularly appeal to anyone who may have been in the Ravenscroft Avenue area between 11.00pm and midnight on Tuesday December 23 and may have heard or seen a disturbance to contact detectives". Four people, including two boys aged 12 and 17, were arrested about the murder but were later released unconditionally. Police said Mr Goddard may have been involved in drugs and were investigating several lines of enquiry.
