Priory Hill role for McAleese

THE husband of former president Mary McAleese, Dr Martin McAleese, pictured, will oversee the implementation of a new mortgage deal for former Priory Hall residents in north Dublin. Under the &euro10 million (£8.5m)deal, which was accepted by residents, former apartment owners will have their old debt written off and be given new 100 per cent mortgages to buy homes. The complex was built by bankrupt former IRA hunger striker Tom McFeely and was branded one of the worst failures of the Celtic Tiger. Around 250 people were evacuated from the complex in October 2011 after Dublin city council declared it a "fire-trap".
