Keira Knightley, Mary Berry and Holly Willoughby take centre stage – in the trading room

Keira Knightley, Mary Berry, Danny DeVito and Holly Willoughby have tried their hand on the trading room floor.

Liz Hurley, Ellie Goulding, Davina McCall, Alan Carr, Melanie Sykes, Sarah Harding, Frankie Bridge and Fearne Cotton also took part in the charity event held at London’s Canary Wharf.

As well as raising money for around 50 charities, the day also commemorates the anniversary of the World Trade Centre attacks in New York.

Sykes told the Press Association: “What’s so great is that in a … feisty and fiery… room like that, is that all this money is going to go to charity.

“I just closed two deals, I don’t know how to do it. I was told what to say and it worked!”

Former Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes, who also took part, added: “I’m just worried I’m going to make a mistake!”

Sophie, Countess of Wessex also took part, as well as London Mayor Sadiq Khan.

Every year, Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC Partners, commemorate its “658 friends and colleagues and 61 Eurobrokers employees who perished on September 11, 2001 by distributing 100% of our global revenues on Charity Day to the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and dozens of charities around the world”.
