Deciding who you should fight next as a boxer has never been easier – simply put it to a Twitter poll.

That’s what WBO world welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao did to decide his next fight. The 38-year-old asked Twitter and 44,815 people responded.

The result is that the Filipino boxer will fight 30-year-old Briton Amir Khan on April 23 – Khan received 48% of the vote, beating Jeff Horn, Terence Crawford and Kell Brook in the poll.

Khan won Olympic silver at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and has endured something of a mixed professional career, losing his most recent fight by a knockout against Mexican Saul Alvarez in May last year.Pacquiao, meanwhile, had retired last April, but has since reversed that decision.
