A study in the British Journal of Nutrition found that the more often people ate fruit, the lower they scored for depression and the higher they scored for mental wellbeing. The significant levels of antioxidants, fibre and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) found in fruit may promote optimal brain function, said the researchers from Aston University.
