FRESH from her success at Mela and Sunflower Fest, Tessa Greer is expanding and bringing her 'festival' indoors as, on Sunday November 8, Tonic Health and Wellness Festival kicks off in T-13 in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter.

When I asked Tessa what had steered her towards festivals, she replied: “My previous career experience in music and sound saw me work in many different capacities including events, festivals and production management.

"I've always loved the fun vibe of a festival and in relation to the Tonic Health and Wellness Festival, it is really important to be able to create a vibrant and upbeat setting for individuals and families to experience the different elements of health and well-being on offer from our local practitioners and businesses."

So far most of Tessa’s events have been outdoor – so what inspired the move inside?

“The venue itself – T-13 on Queen's Road – was previously a shipbuilding warehouse. It is now used for all manner of activities including BMX events, skateboarding, urban art and DJ sessions. It is managed and maintained by a vibrant and upbeat team of people who host amazing events and projects in Belfast – we all feel that this is a perfect fit."

This 'festival' is well priced; for Tessa, the intention is that the door charge will enable patrons to attend as many of free talks, workshops and experiences on the day as they can, as well as offer an opportunity to sample taster sessions, treatments, products, food, crafts and more.

Exhibitors include practitioners of acupuncture, chiropractic, herbalism, crystal therapies, yoga and Qi Gong, as well as nutritionists. There'll also be talks and workshops, including White Oak Astrology Workshop delivered by Belle Logue, White Feather Meditations delivered by Deirdre Cartmill, Starfire Healing and Transformational Breath by Brian Williams (most of us could do with a few lessons on how to breath properly – the benefits are amazing).

Other workshops are Positive EFT with Adrienne McAllister, Laura McKee, Life Coach / Confidence Building and Vivian McKinnon talking about Hydro-ease.

:: Full programme information will be available online prior to the event. Tickets £5 per person (£3 concession; £12 Family ticket). Tickets available from Visit Belfast or ticketmaster.ie or www.tinyurl.com/TONICtickets.
