JUMPER for joy

Christmas means fun and nothing says fun in the fashion department at this time of year quite like a festive jumper, writes Niamh Kelly

IF YOU love the festive period as much as I do, then you'll want to replenish your stock of Christmas jumpers. It's all about having fun and not taking your look too seriously. Embrace your inner child and make the most of this magical time of year. I've quite enjoyed browsing the online stores and boutiques in search of my favourite picks for Christmas. You can either go all out or incorporate the essence of the festive period a little more subtly.

1. I'm going to kick-start my selection with this hilarious pug puppy sporting a red sequin nose and gold antlers.

I love the tree green as it pops perfectly against the pug and its accessories. This bold jumper can be found over at ASOS (£35).

2. When it comes to jumpers, length is an important part of the style for me. I'm not a huge fan of the short look. My mummy always told me that I would give myself a chill in my kidneys with a short top and I'm afraid that's stuck with me.

George at Asda has some gorgeous Christmas jumpers in stock at the minute; I've chosen this adorable 3D pudding jumper (£14) for two reasons. Firstly, it's great value and secondly it's looks extremely soft. This jumper would be perfect for those of you who are a little nervous about wearing a bold piece.

3. Some colours can be hard to wear but you can 'stay safe' with this beautiful black and white Rudolph snowflake sweater from A|Wear (£25). This is the type of style that I would wear. It's got quite the comfortable look to it and the colours make it simple to accessorise. The bold red lip worn on the model is the perfect make up style as it compliments the jumper without overpowering it.

4. This one is for those of you who would rather not go over the top with your jumpers. It's a pretty cream snowflake piece from Next (£32),thicker and more of an over-sized sweater style. This would work perfectly worn with a pair of skinny jeans or leggings for a more relaxed festive look. Again, as it is quite a neutral look, I would style it with a bold statement lip to add a touch of glamour.
