CIARAN Thompson sent Mattie Donnelly for 20 Regal on the way to scoring a superb first half score, Michael McKernan fired over from 45 metres in the second half, Ciaran Daly bagged a couple of crackers – but Paddy McBrearty’s score in the dying seconds, although not the day’s best aesthetic moment, brought Celtic Park to life at the end of a topsy-turvy afternoon.

TURNING POINT
TYRONE went three up, 0-12 to 0-9, 15 minutes into the second half and looked well placed to kick on. But Donegal showed what they are all about as Peadar Mogan roamed up the field and slotted over, then they won the next kick-out and Caolan McGonagle rampaged forward to score, successfully quelling the Red Hands’ momentum.

COULDN’T have been accused of giving the handy ones at least. Donegal would have felt aggrieved over Oisin Gallen not getting a free at the end of normal time if they hadn’t managed to fashion an equaliser soon after. Refereed it fairly sensibly on the whole though, including not bowing to calls for a black card for Gavin Mulreany after his mistimed effort to beat Darragh Canavan to the ball in the first half.
