IRISH fashion retailer DV8 is set to open a new flagship store in Belfast city centre.

The high street clothing chain, which has a major presence across the north, is taking over the ground floor of the Donegall Place unit formerly occupied by DW Sports.

The store has been vacant since the sportswear chain collapsed in 2020.

It’s understood the new DV8 flagship store could be open by Easter.

It’s another boost for the busy city centre thoroughfare following news that UK restaurant chain the Ivy Collection will open a food outlet in the spot on Donegall Place set to be vacated by Burger King.

Meanwhile jewellery chain Ernest Jones, which had been long associated with Donegall Place and Queen’s Aracde, has relocated to the nearby Cornmarket area of Belfast, taking on the unit vacated by Thorntons in March 2021.

Gucci has now opened in its former store at Queen’s Arcade. The new boutique will be dedicated specifically to Gucci’s watches and jewellery

It comes just a week after Lunn’s announced German luxury goods maker Montblanc had opened a new unit at the revamped Queen's Arcade.
