Software firm looking for staff

SOFTwaRe testing firm SQS is to create 25 jobs in belfast as part of an all-Ireland expansion over the next three years.

The Germany-headquartered company, which already employs more than 50 staff in the north, is also bringing 50 posts to a new headquarters in Dublin's Docklands area.

SQS, which came to Ireland in 2002, s recruiting software quality engineers and managers, business analysts, performance engineers and software test analysts.

The company provides independent outsourced IT testing services to customers in the financial services, manufacturing, utilities, retail and telco sectors.

Two years ago SQS, which is the largest provider of independent software testing services in the european Union, chose belfast to locate a centre of excellence, tripling its payroll at that time.

The northern Ireland SQS centre is part of SQS Group UK ltd, which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of German firm SQS Group aG.

The strategic aim for the belfast operation is to provide SQS with a time-zone friendly, highly-specialised and cost-effective one-stop-shop for Irish, british, european and US customers.
